Will You Visit Me At My New Blog?

Why do I need to move to a new blog? Let me count the ways:

1). Let's blame my childhood.

I moved a lot as a child. I went to 3 different elementary schools, 2 different junior high schools, 2 different high schools. My family moved from one city to another, then even moved countries twice, and I always blame this continuous packing and moving whenever I get the chance. I changed jobs almost yearly from 1998 to 2004, and I blamed the itch that forced me to leave one job for another on the semi-nomadic living I had as a child and teenager.

I started a blog in 2001, and can't remember how many times I've deleted an old blog to start a new one. Again, let's blame my childhood for this. I can't seem to stay too long somewhere. I need to always move, physically, or if that's not possible, then virtually.

2) Let's face it: creating a new blog doesn't cost anything. Which is always a great reason to do something, if you are cheap like me.

3) I started this blog in 2004 without any particular idea except to use is as some kind of a diary. Therefore, blogging is never on my priority list, resulting in only 200-odd posts after more than 8 years! In those 8 years, I have associated this blog with something I don't have to do except if I have plenty of time in my hands (which translates to almost never.)

Now in my ripe old age, I want to make writing a priority, and I think a move to a new blog will motivate me to write more. My plan is to write 3000 posts in my new blog, because roughly I spend more than 3 hours to write one post, and I like the idea that you need 10,000 hours of practice to become good at something. (Malcolm Gladwell's "10,000-Hour Rule").

I still hope I will one day write something worth reading, that some people will find my writing resonate with them, and I am willing to put in the effort to improve my writing.

So there.

Will you visit me at my new blog?  It is here on http://3000posts.blogspot.com

I hope to see you there.
