I walked through the rain yesterday, a heavy rain accompanied with harsh wind which sent too much water my way.
"Are you going home," asked people, standing under the roof of a smaller building which stood between my building and my car. Funny question, I thought, but answering nonetheless: "Yes I am. No I don't need an umbrella, thank you."
The rain was so heavy I got very wet right down to my bag and shoes (I had to walk through puddles to get to the car). I thought of a time when Mom bought me boots so I could walk in a puddle. I still remember those boots: red outside, colourful stripes inside. I still remember what it felt like, splashing in a puddle wearing them. I got into the car, thinking how different walking in a puddle felt when you were all grown up.
